Volunteer Visiting

Our friendly, trained volunteers visit isolated members of the community to provide companionship, support and personal assistance.

Seniors or adults with a disability, those who are lonely, socially isolated and have trouble making new social connections because of failing health or limited mobility benefit from our friendly visiting program.

Volunteers are trained and carefully screened before being matched with a client. We assess the needs and consider the preferences and interests of the client. We make every effort to match clients and volunteers with similar interests or backgrounds to encourage the development of a meaningful relationship.

One to two-hour friendly visits occur on a regular weekly or biweekly basis. Clients and volunteers may visit in the client’s home for things like conversation or playing cards, the volunteer can run errands with the client, or they can enjoy activities outside the home, like walking or visiting local parks.
