Telephone Assurance

Our Telephone Assurance volunteers make regular telephone contact with seniors or adults with a disability who live alone, to check on their safety and security.

Volunteers call at a regular, pre-arranged time. If the client doesn’t answer their scheduled phone call, a call is made to a contact person who agrees to check on this person in their home.

Screened volunteers listen, talk and help isolated people feel connected to the community. This service can provide peace of mind to clients or their family members who are concerned about loneliness, security or personal safety of the person living alone.

Benefits of our Telephone Assurance program

Social connection

Volunteers provide a listening ear, a friendly voice and a sense of reassurance for clients at risk of loneliness and isolation.

Safety & security at home

A simple telephone check-in lets us know if your loved one is staying safe in their own home.

Live independently

Telephone check-ins provide an additional layer of security to support seniors living independently at home.
