In-home Adult Respite

Our in-home adult respite program provides temporary relief to caregivers of adults with a disability, dementia or other chronic illness.

Around-the-clock caregiving can be stressful and exhausting. Taking time to also care for yourself is important but can be a challenge.

We will visit you in your home to meet with you and your loved one to assess your respite needs and develop a suitable plan of care. A support worker will then come into your home on a regular basis to provide temporary caregiving duties for your loved one.

Respite may include homemaking services such as meal preparation or light housekeeping and recreation and stimulation activities.

In-home respite visits typically occur once a week, for a few hours at a time. Regular respite care can help prevent caregiver burnout by relieving some of your workload and stress. Visits may also be scheduled on an occasional basis for coverage during medical appointments or other events.
