VON Canada has been engaged by the Public Health Agency of Canada to assist with medical screenings for Canadian passengers on returned flights chartered by the Government of Canada and the U.S. Government from Wuhan, China. Evacuated passengers arrived at CFB Trenton, Ontario on Friday, February 7 and Tuesday, February 11 where they are currently being quarantined for 14 days. These measures were taken out of an abundance of caution to ensure the health and safety of these passengers and all Canadians. Passengers underwent thorough health screenings prior to boarding, during the flight, and upon landing. No one who was sick or displaying symptoms was permitted to travel.
VON is a home and community care provider employing nurses in the Trenton area. The request for support in this important effort is a testament to the quality care of our staff, and the trust placed in our team by our partners.
