Bella became VON’s Chief Nursing Officer in January 2023, after joining the organization in March 2021 as Director, Professional Practice and Education.
Bella brings a wealth of experience in professional nursing practice and nursing education, on both sides of the border. Prior to VON, Bella was the Associate Dean, Health, Wellness and Sciences at Georgian College in Barrie, Ontario. From 2006 to 2019, she worked at the Mayo Clinic in Arizona, most recently as the operations manager for the School of Health Sciences. Bella has also been a staff nurse and educator in Arizona, Illinois, Wisconsin and Alberta and taught in the Edson College of Nursing at Arizona State University.
Bella holds a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Wisconsin Madison and a Bachelor of Science in Nursing from the University of Alberta. She has published research on nursing education and women’s health, and contributed multiple chapters to Homemaker Home Health Aide, 5th edition.
Bella is a passionate volunteer, with international experience in Nepal, India and Swaziland.
