Board of Directors

Peter Currie brings expertise in mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and operational strategy to the VON Board of Directors.

Peter has more than 40 years of experience in all areas of finance, mergers and acquisitions, corporate governance and operational strategy in Canada, the United States and internationally, in the consumer packaged goods, technology, financial services and nuclear energy industries. His distinguished career includes serving as the executive vice president and chief financial officer of Nortel Networks and vice chair and chief financial officer of the Royal Bank of Canada.

Peter has served on a number of public, private and not-for-profit boards of directors. He served as a commissioner with the Ontario Securities Commission, was chair of the board of ViXS Systems and of the board of Atomic Energy Company of Canada. He as has served on the boards of the Canadian Tire Corporation, Intelius, Affinion Group, Symcor, York University, York University Development Corp, The C.D. Howe Institute, the Toronto East General Hospital and the Kemptville District Hospital. 

Peter holds a Bachelor of Arts (Honours Economics) and an MBA from York University and is a member of the Institute of Corporate Directors.
